SUMMARY:Pain management and rehabilitation for pets
DESCRIPTION:Sometimes medical and surgical techniques designed to prevent or treat common veterinary maladies don’t entirely “repair” the four-legged family member.  At other times\, traditional medical approaches or surgical techniques may be too costly\, invasive or even unavailable.  Thankfully\, rehabilitation and interventional pain management tools\, modalities\, programs and approaches exist for pets just as they exist for human patients.  Come join us as we speak about advanced diagnostics and some interventional\, physical medicine techniques aimed at helping return function and quality of life to post surgical\, non surgical and chronically ill veterinary patients. \nPresented by:  Andrea (Andi) Looney\, DVM\n \n  \nCornell College of Vet Med graduate 1989 \nSpent time in private practice and returned to \nComplete internship and residency in Anesthesia/critical care at Cornell University \nStayed to work at Cornell in Community Practice\, Emergency Medicine\, Anesthesia and Pain Management \nHas held faculty positions at Cornell\, Tufts and worked at Angell\, AMC\, Ethos Veterinary Health and her favorite place of employment\, Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine in North Haven

SUMMARY:Introduction to Pet Pig Care and Behavior
DESCRIPTION:Pigs are smart and interesting animals.  Many people choose to have them as pets\, either outdoors or in their homes.  I have heard them described as “just like dogs\, but with no desire to please you whatsoever.”  That is fairly accurate\, but there is more.  We will touch on their basic medical needs\, common problems\, nutrition\, and some basics of behavior\, to either improve your current relationship with your pig\, or to guide you before deciding to keep a pig as a pet. \nPresented by:Dr Dennis Thibeault\n \nDr Dennis Thibeault received his BS in Biology from Fairfield University and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University in 1994.  He started Green Valley Veterinary Services in Mansfield CT in 2008. He and his team provide mobile veterinary care for farm animals throughout Eastern CT and most of Rhode Island.  Their primary focus is pet and hobby livestock\, and also do home euthanasia for dogs and cats. Dr Thibeault is also certified in Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue.
