SUMMARY:Introduction to Pet Pig Care and Behavior
DESCRIPTION:Pigs are smart and interesting animals.  Many people choose to have them as pets\, either outdoors or in their homes.  I have heard them described as “just like dogs\, but with no desire to please you whatsoever.”  That is fairly accurate\, but there is more.  We will touch on their basic medical needs\, common problems\, nutrition\, and some basics of behavior\, to either improve your current relationship with your pig\, or to guide you before deciding to keep a pig as a pet. \nPresented by:Dr Dennis Thibeault\n \nDr Dennis Thibeault received his BS in Biology from Fairfield University and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University in 1994.  He started Green Valley Veterinary Services in Mansfield CT in 2008. He and his team provide mobile veterinary care for farm animals throughout Eastern CT and most of Rhode Island.  Their primary focus is pet and hobby livestock\, and also do home euthanasia for dogs and cats. Dr Thibeault is also certified in Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue.
